Sol-Mates B.V. was founded in 2020 in the Netherlands with a clear purpose: to create designed objects, spaces and systems that have a genuine relationship with natural light.
The name says everything. Sol — the sun. Mates — partners, collaborators. We are, at heart, a studio that works with light as a material: designing products that cast beautiful shadows, interiors that move through the day, and shading systems that make light itself the design.
Based in Rutten, Netherlands with a studio in Imanta, Rīga, we work across Europe with clients who share our belief that thoughtful design transforms how people live and work.
